Private Right of Action (PRA)

If a company breaks the TCPA law, you can file a lawsuit in state or federal court and ask for:

• $500 for each illegal call, text, or fax, for each of the PRA statutes, and
• Up to $1,500 per violation if done willfully or knowingly

That means even a handful of calls can add up fast. For example:

• 5 illegal prerecorded voice calls and ignoring 5 do-not-call requests = $5,000.
• If those calls were made knowingly? You could be awarded up to $15,000.
